Description
Climbing 4* 3000m peaks including professional training for the necessary safety management on ski tours
Program: Duration 4 days Thursday to Sunday
Day 1. We meet early at 07:30 in Neukirchen near tauern sports (Bärngarten 156, 5741 Neukirchen am Großvenediger) where we can also get our equipment if required. Then we take a taxi to the entrance of the Obersulzbach valley. From there it goes into the Obersulzbachtal to the Postalm where we have already earned our first refreshment. With the Großer Geiger in the background and many many rays of sunshine on our faces, we enjoy our break. From there we begin our actual ascent over the picturesque glacier lake to the hut.
Postalm- Kürsinger approx. 760m elevation gain, 3.5-4 hours walking time
In the evening we discuss the course of the next few days at a cozy get-together and do the situation check of the area.
Day 2. Ski tour on the Keeskogel 3298. The focus on this day is learning ski touring technique and avalanche-aware behavior. The crowning glory is a fantastic view of the surrounding giants of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Finally, the descent to the Kürsingerhütte rewards every passionate winter sports enthusiast.
After an extensive dinner, we will deal with the topic of rope technique on ski tours and learn everything necessary to be prepared for the next few days.
Day 3. Today we go to the world-old majesty, the Großvenediger 3666m. A wonderful ascent over the Obersulzbachkkees awaits us. When you have overcome the Venice gap, a tremendous view opens up, ranging from the Grossglockner to the 3 Zinnen. A short time later we are at the highest point in Salzburg. The descent is based on the ascent and offers pure downhill fun.
The crowning glory of the day is a hearty hut evening with cheese fondue and wine
Day 4. Our last day takes us on one of the most beautiful ski tours in the Eastern Alps. Today we go over the so-called cannon barrel over the Sonntagskees to the Schlieferspitze 3290m. With a last look at the Großvenediger and the Kürsingerhütte we start our descent towards the material cable car. From there we ski again along the forest path from the Obersulzbachtal and can look back on a wonderful 4 days.
