AP stands for Advanced Performance Brake System, ATK's new system for locking the stopper when climbing.
The new “R12” family features 4 different production technologies and 6 ATK® patents, including the new Snow Pack Proof System® to prevent snow, ice and foreign bodies from entering the front automatic locking mechanism.
The great know-how acquired by ATK® in the race field has also allowed it to achieve a weight of just 330 grams, including the new rear ski brake, which offers great braking power with surprisingly easy use and low weight. A new, fully adjustable freeride spacer is available as an accessory and definitively closes the gap between the free touring and free ride categories, bringing the precision and power transmission to the level of alpine racing bindings.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
- Easy Entry System®: a new geometry of the front automatic system that makes getting in with all technical ski boots extremely easy, intuitive and safe, even with worn soles.
- SNOW PACK PROOF SYSTEM®: avoids the problem of ice build-up and the consequent blocking of the front runner, even when changing skins multiple times, considerably reduces the accumulation of snow on the front runner and thus guarantees optimal lightness in all phases of use.
- UHV® System (Up-hill Hardness Variator): System that allows the hardness of the locking mechanism of the front automatic to be varied in the uphill mode. It compensates for the wear and tear of the front insert of the ski boot over the years, offers each user an appropriate locking force and reduces unnecessary pressure on the locking mechanism.
- CAM RELEASE SYSTEM®: the historic patented system that guarantees the best downhill performance on the market, as well as extremely precise release and the smoothest insertion into the heel unit.
- ELASTIC RESPONSE SYSTEM®: an elastic sliding system applied to the heel unit that guarantees the natural flex of the ski (even during large jumps/compressions), improved release performance when the system is subjected to strong loads and reduced loads on the ski/boot/binding system.
- An updated version of the Magneto Heel Flaps® system offers 5 different positions. ù
- The integrated cross point holder SRA ensures the perfect insertion of all ATK® cross points.
- The 25mm adjustment slide integrated into the heel unit allows quick adjustment when changing ski boots
- The release system on the heel unit allows a lateral adjustment (Mz) and a vertical adjustment (My) from 5 to 12
- AP Brake System technology for easy locking of the ski stopper
- ELASTIC SLIDE SKI BRAKE: the ski brake is equipped with an elastic slide on the plate in contact with the sole of the ski boot, which guarantees the maintenance of the lateral release value.
- New rear SKI-STOPPER included, characterized by the extreme quality and low weight typical of ATK®. Two positions (ascent and descent) can be selected with a simple button
- New FREERIDE SPACER (optional): Thanks to this accessory, we have also closed the gap between the Tech bindings and the Alpine bindings, guaranteeing a precision superior to all other models found on the market.
